He's the last person a Hero expects to find down here, and somehow the least surprised to be found. No torch, no weapon drawn, standing in the dark like he's been waiting rather than exploring. When a ratling scurries past him it doesn't flinch, doesn't attack, barely seems to notice him at all, and neither does he.

He doesn't explain what he's doing here. He rarely explains anything.

1	Something about the exchange leaves the Hero rattled, though nothing was said that should. Add 1 Threat Die.
2-5	He gives a short, unhelpful answer and goes back to whatever he was doing before you arrived.
6	He tells you something real, more than he probably should. If you have an active Quest that calls for Clues in the Rat Nest, this counts as finding your next one.
7+	He tells you more than that. This counts as finding your next two Clues for that Quest instead.
