Gareth Stoke
Gareth Stoke is the sturdy one, stocky and steady in a way that makes him seem older than he is, and the pass's orphan kids lean on him for it more than any of them would admit out loud. He's rarely without some tool or another, a hammer more often than not, and he's fixed more broken things around Vulture's Vineyard than most of the adults have noticed. He takes the work seriously. "If you want something done right" is practically a sentence he was born saying.
His pockets are always full, nails, bits of string, something that might once have been a frying pan, and he grumbles about carrying it all while never once actually putting any of it down. He's not much for speeches or drama, leaves that to the others, but when something goes wrong he's the first one moving to fix it, hammer already in hand. Quiet, dependable, and a little too used to being the one who has to be.
