A single page torn from the Alma Mortis, Demetra's personal record of every soul she has ever received. The paper is unlike any known material. It does not burn, tear, or decay. The ink does not fade. On it is written a single name in Demetra's hand, followed by a death date.

The date is in the past. The person named is alive.

Someone escaped Demetra. She wants to know how.

Using the Page from the Alma Mortis

This item generates a quest for the current adventure. When the hero acquires this page they must find the named individual, discover why their soul was never received by Demetra, and determine whether they escaped death alone or were helped and by whom.

The named individual is always someone the hero has already encountered in this adventure.

When the quest is resolved the page dissolves and the hero gains one of the following rewards based on their deity:

If devoted to Demetra -- Gain 1 permanent additional Deity Power use per adventure. This stacks with itself if earned multiple times across different adventures.

If devoted to any other deity, or no deity -- Gain a one-time Second Chance: reroll any single die at any point in the current or next adventure. Declare before seeing the result of the reroll.
