Dicey Dangers, The Creepy Creature of Vulture's Vineyard Game by Joel Hills

Vultures Vineyard Bar

Time-Icon.png The Vultures Vineyard Bar is a dimly lit space that smells of spilled ale and old wood smoke, a long bar counter running the length of the room. Behind it, rows of barrels and shelves crowd together, filled with a variety of liquor bottles collected over the years. The low murmur of conversation and the occasional creak of a settling bench fill the room, punctuated by the clink of glasses set down a little too hard.

A mid-sized corkboard hangs on one wall, layered thick with notices old and new: a faded wanted poster for a bandit who was probably caught years ago, a hand-scrawled note about a missing goat with a reward offered in coin, and a flyer advertising a traveling merchant's next visit, the date long since passed. Nobody's bothered to take any of it down.

A few wooden benches are scattered around the room where guests can sit and enjoy a drink. Above the bar counter, mounted on the wall in a place of obvious pride, hangs an ancient double-bladed axe, its edge dulled with age but somehow still catching the light strangely whenever a lantern passes near it. Nobody working here seems to remember exactly where it came from, only that it's always been there. Overall, the Vultures Vineyard Bar provides a cozy, well-worn atmosphere for guests to relax and indulge in a drink or two.

Event

Roll 1d6.

  • On a 5: A stranger sits hunched at the bar, two drinks already poured, one for himself and one for whoever's willing to join him. Turn to Stanton Creed.
  • On a 6: The axe above the counter seems to shift in the corner of your eye, and a voice speaks, one only you can hear. Turn to Whispering Axe.

Depending on how these events play out, they may not happen again.
