Selena Grail is a determined and ambitious young Dwarven Paladin who is trying to break free from the expectations placed on her by her parents. Despite the pressure to follow in their footsteps and become a Cleric, Selena has her heart set on becoming the greatest Paladin of all time. She is hardworking and dedicated to her cause, often spending her free time collecting used items to sell in order to raise funds to build the House of Sanctuary. Selena can be a bit snappy at times, but she is fiercely protective of her beliefs and values, which can make her difficult to approach and warm up to.

In addition to her fundraising efforts, Selena can often be found helping out around the Sanctuary, whether it's cleaning up after construction crews or tending to injured adventurers. She has a strong sense of duty and a desire to make the world a better place, which fuels her passion for becoming a Paladin. Despite the challenges she faces along the way, Selena remains committed to her goals and determined to prove that she can achieve greatness on her own terms.

Selena Grail

Selena Grail is a young Dwarven Paladin with copper hair in a single tight braid, secondhand armor polished to a mirror shine, and a wooden crate of donated goods that never seems to leave her hip. Both of her parents are Clerics of standing, the kind whose names open temple doors in bigger cities, and both expected their daughter to take the vestments after them. Selena took up the shield instead. She means to become the greatest Paladin who ever lived, and she means to do it from a half-built temple in a small mountain town, on her own name and nobody else's.

The House of Sanctuary is her proof. Her parents preach; she builds. Every plank, every block of ivory stone, every nail in that temple traces back to something Selena begged, hauled, scrubbed, or sold, and she can tell you the story of most of them whether you ask or not. She is snappy with strangers, allergic to pity, and entirely unable to accept help gracefully, but the sick resting on the cots along the Sanctuary walls know a different Selena, one with endless patience and a voice that goes soft the moment someone actually needs her.

Years of running the sales pile have given her a merchant's eye she can't switch off. She appraises everything and everyone at a glance, and has an unfortunate habit of greeting people by estimating what their gear would fetch. More than one adventurer has been welcomed to the Sanctuary with "those boots would bring forty, if you ever tire of them."
