Insect

Insects exhibit a remarkable variety, from the imposing Vespid with their formidable stingers to the diminutive Waspkin known for their elusive nature and swift movements. Beetles, adorned with vibrant carapaces, scuttle through the undergrowth, their armored bodies reflecting the harsh light of the sun. The Vespid, with their territorial instincts, fiercely guard their hives, while the Waspkin, with their keen senses, evade capture with uncanny agility. Beetles, meanwhile, traverse the dungeon's labyrinthine passages, scavenging for sustenance and unwittingly serving as fodder for larger predators. In this perilous landscape, insects are not merely creatures of nuisance; they are integral components of the ever-shifting balance between survival and peril.

What unites the family isn't temperament, since Insects range from mindless to shrewd, but structure: chitin over softer things, many legs or none that matter, and a hive-logic that means one Insect is rarely alone for long. A wounded Insect swarm doesn't retreat the way a wounded animal does, it regroups, and a Hero who forgets that difference usually only forgets it once.
