Stage 1: Conception and Planning

Survey stakes and twine grid the bare ground, chalk lines mark walls that exist only on paper, and a set of hand-inked drawings sits weighted down with stones against the mountain wind. Six rough boulders stand where the pillars will one day rise, each already scratched with the name of a deity. There is no roof, no walls, nothing between you and the sky, but the ground has been consecrated, and prayers said here are heard.
