Stage 2: Foundations

Trenches have been cut deep into the mountain earth and the first courses of ivory stone laid within them, pale and clean against the dark soil. The six pillar bases are set and leveled, each one a broad drum of stone carrying its deity's name in fresh-cut letters. The shape of the temple can finally be read in the ground itself, and standing at its center, you can feel that the deities have started paying attention.
