Odessa Vane

Odessa Vane doesn't run a wagon. She runs a mule, a cart, and an instinct for weather that has never once failed her. Sun-cracked, wind-scoured, and built like someone who has slept outdoors more nights than not, she has spent years chasing storms across open country, and the storms have started leaving things behind for her: fulgurite blades fused from sand and lightning, armor that hums faintly with stored charge, small oddments that spark if held too long. She sells all of it, cheerfully, with a laugh that rolls low like distant thunder and a habit of squinting at clear skies like she doesn't quite believe them.

Her mule, Rumble, was struck by lightning years ago and came out the other side wrong in the best way: his mane floats loose as if he's underwater, his hooves never need shoeing, and he throws sparks off his harness when something irritates him. Odessa doesn't choose the route anymore. Rumble does. She just follows, and has for years, though lately she's noticed he keeps wanting to bring her back here, to Vulture's Vineyard, again and again, and she's stopped asking why.

Ride the Charge

Once per day, the Hero may run a hand along Rumble's floating mane while it crackles. Mark 1 and gain +1 Reflex until Darkfall.
