The Hero Outlook table in Dicey Dangers is used to determine your character's initial perspective and attitude towards the world they inhabit. It helps shape their beliefs, motivations, and interactions with other characters and the game world. By rolling on the table, you can discover the fundamental outlook of your hero before the adventure begins.

3	Pragmatic	Your hero takes a practical and logical approach to life. They prioritize efficiency and results, making decisions based on what is most practical and beneficial. They are focused on accomplishing their goals and tend to be less concerned with emotions or idealistic notions.
4	Idealistic	Your hero has a strong sense of justice and believes in fighting for what is right. They have high moral standards and are driven by a desire to make a positive impact on the world. They may be willing to make sacrifices for their ideals.
5	Pessimistic	Your hero has a negative outlook on life, often expecting the worst outcomes. They may have experienced significant hardships or losses, leading them to be cautious and pessimistic about the future. They struggle to see the positive aspects of situations and can be prone to despair.
6	Ambitious	Your hero is driven by ambition and a desire for personal success. They have clear goals and are willing to work hard to achieve them. They are focused on self-improvement and are willing to take risks to reach their objectives.

It will be a tale left for centuries untold, of martyrs whose lives had been sacrificed and heroes whose lives prevail over the rest. It tells a story of the magic that goes on for many years ahead–of spells and curses that would forever be engraved into the foundational roots of this world. This old world is not for the faint of heart. You will be facing ruthless monsters whose talons await your blood, and reverent patrons whose glare could seep into your veins. You will be traversing up the rocky cliffs in search of treasure and artifacts that would hopefully guide you in your quest to both victory and glory.

Your quest will not be easy.

However, you will not do it alone. The moonlight may reveal your shadows, but it will also reveal your companions. They come from many places–heroes who have trekked from the great lands of the strong, civilians who you may have saved from their fates, and even mages whose spells may prove to be advantageous to your journey. Some may travel with you with hearts as clear and transparent as the sea below you, while some may travel with a blade behind their backs. Whether you let them assist in these unchartered waters is wholly up to you, and how you want your fate to unfold.
