Corin Hollowfen

A Fairy whose delicate look hides a plan years in the making, the Hero's downfall folded quietly into every larger ambition Corin has. There is no dramatic confrontation waiting, only patience: small setbacks arranged from a safe distance, doors closed long before the Hero ever notices they were open. Given a genuine, safe chance to end the Hero for good, Corin would take it without hesitation and without a flicker of guilt afterward.

To anyone who doesn't know better, Corin is simply pleasant company who happens to know everyone worth knowing. That's rather the point.

Event

Roll 1d6 to see how Corin's reach shows up today.

Roll 1d6 Result
1 Something small goes slightly wrong, nothing provably Corin's doing, easy enough to write off as bad luck.
2 An acquaintance mentions, offhand, that someone had been asking a lot of questions about the Hero recently.
3 A door, path, or opportunity the Hero was counting on turns out to be quietly closed. Make a Luck(1) Skill Check to find a workaround at no cost; failure adds 1 Dice-Black-Icon.png.
4 Corin appears briefly, pleasant and unreadable, just long enough to unsettle. Make a Mind(1) Skill Check to shake off the feeling they know too much; failure adds 1 Dice-Black-Icon.png.
5 A near-miss, a loose stone, a swinging beam, almost catches the Hero and doesn't quite. Make a Reflex(1) Skill Check; failure adds 1 Dice-Black-Icon.png and the sense that it wasn't really an accident.
6 Something goes wrong that has Corin's fingerprints all over it, arranged well before the Hero ever sees them face to face. Full Confrontation, see below.

Full Confrontation

Make a Luck(2) Skill Check to notice the setup before it springs.

  • Success: you sidestep it cleanly. Corin, watching from a safe distance, simply isn't there when you look.
  • Failure: the trap catches you clean, add 1 Dice-Black-Icon.png, and Corin is suddenly right there to finish what was already set in motion.
Corin Hollowfen Health 6
