Dicey Dangers, Core Rule Game by Joel Hills

Class

As the world advances, so do its people.

However, advancements take different shapes throughout the years. While some prefer to stand by the sidelines as society progresses, others would prefer to stand on the forefronts of wars. While others would rather sing the carols of their comrades’ achievements, others would rather be the main characters of their own stories. As time continues to age, so do their hopes, dreams, and beliefs. With so many differences that have risen, the community splits up into different groups–one that will characterize their place in society as well as their passions in life.

Mingle with alchemists and sorcerers if you prefer a more exciting and transformative display of magic. Watch how their very potions and spells could turn a rabbit into a turtle or how ordinary pebbles would become sparkling diamonds. While their showcase may prove to be quite the sight, a wizard would pull you in the corner and tell you the science of each wave of a hand.

If adrenaline is what you seek, then you might prefer to spar with fighters. Fast and agile, their tactics would prepare you for a war that’s yet to come. The way they swing their swords with no mercy or trip you without the slightest doubt–it’s because they know that sweat and blood are what makes a warrior, not a bunch of stories or lessons. Swashbucklers and paladins, however, may disagree, as their teaching style extends from the journeys they’ve led and the danger they’ve escaped.

However, if you’d prefer the adrenaline without the sweat, then you can partner with a gambler. Let your mind race faster than your heart as you toss the dice up in the air. Hopefully, you’re as lucky as them, because so far–they’re still yet to lose a bet. Think of sweating just a little bit? Commit atrocities with a rogue, and hope you don’t get caught. Luckily for you, they never do.

As they say, as days pass and lives become entwined, you’d come to realize that peace is not worth a thousand tear-jerking journeys or hundreds of life-defining journeys. Here, you might get along with a cleric–who heals and speaks of a world where their deities may reign infinitely. While their tales may differ, you may find yourselves agreeing to many of their rules and customs.

Whatever you desire, you’ll find yourself at home with at least one class. The talent that springs from your fingertips, the quickness in your feet, the beat of your heart, or even the peace of your mind–while these little details may not wholly define who you are, you might come to realize that they show a whole lot more of you than you think.

You may deviate from them in time, or you may advance in the field you're already in.

Whatever your choice may be, know that you have a home waiting for you to return–even if you are a rogue.
