Quest Item
Quest Items are special items found during adventures that carry their own lore and mechanical effects. They are not bought in shops and cannot be crafted. They are found, given, or earned through the circumstances of play.
Every Quest Item fills 1 Bag Slot on the hero sheet. A hero cannot carry a Quest Item if they have no available Bag Slots.
Quest Items persist between adventures. A hero who finishes an adventure carrying a Quest Item keeps it for their next adventure unless the item's own rules state otherwise.
Two Types of Quest Item
There are two types of Quest Item:
Relic Items are tied to specific locations. Each one has a 2-digit number that combines with a room number to create a 4-digit lookup code used during play. Relic Items are unique to the adventure in which they are found.
Artifact Items are tied to something larger than a location: a deity, a force, or a being that exists beyond any single adventure. Artifact Items are not numbered. They carry lore that connects to the wider world and may appear across multiple adventures.
Both types fill 1 Bag Slot. Both have their own dedicated page describing their lore and mechanical effects.
