Chronicle

Chronicle keywords are records of defining moments in a hero's adventure. They are not traits the hero was born with, not choices made at character creation, and not temporary effects that expire after a few days. They are things that happened. They mark the hero permanently until the story around them is resolved.

A Chronicle keyword stays on the hero sheet until the event it records has reached its conclusion. Through a quest completed, a debt paid, a choice made, or a consequence fully lived. Some Chronicle keywords can be removed. Others may never be.

Chronicle keywords may affect how NPCs, rooms, and events respond to the hero. Content across all adventures can check for Chronicle keywords and alter its outcome accordingly.
