Beguile
Not every fight needs to happen. A Bard who understands this casts Beguile not out of cowardice, but out of economy why spend health and charges on a monster that, with the right word and the right posture, might simply step aside? The spell does not deceive so much as it reframes. For a brief moment, the target sees the caster in a slightly more favorable light. Whether that impression holds is another matter entirely.
Charge Use
Before combat begins, Hero makes a Social Skill Check. Check the successes against the table below to improve the target monster's Reaction toward the Hero. If the Reaction is already at its most favorable step, no further improvement is possible.
| Social Skill Check | Result |
|---|---|
| 1 or 2 | No effect — combat proceeds normally |
| 3 or 4 | Improve target's Reaction by 1 step |
| 5+ | Improve target's Reaction by 2 steps |
